By working closely with concrete crews from Charles Blalock and Sons, our quality control staff can closely monitor how our concrete actually performs on the job. This feedback allows us to move beyond basic acceptance testing; instead, we are able to do research and product development to improve how the concrete performs as it is placed. For example, when Blalock slip-form curbing crew wanted a better initial finish on their curbing, we experimented with different sands and admixtures to improve the concrete workability. The result: a proprietary mix that increases productivity and improves the final product.
