Sound barriers are panel-type concrete wall systems that are used in many transportation projects to reduce the impact of roadway noise on surrounding areas. Blalock Ready Mix and Charles Blalock and Sons produce various types and sizes of sound barriers, such as those featured prominently in the SmartFix40 project along Interstate 40 in Knoxville, TN. Our panels are produced in our National Precast Concrete Association certified facility in Sevierville using DOT-approved concrete mixes and process controls. Though the panels are designed and used mostly for sound reduction, they can also be installed for decorative uses as well.
