The Jake Thomas Connector project in Pigeon Forge is nearing completion, and the Tennessee Department of Transportation has announced that the road will officially open to traffic at 12PM on March 28.
This new 2-mile road connects Jake Thomas Boulevard at Teaster Lane to Veterans Boulevard near the Dollywood entrance. The link provides a direct connection between the Pigeon Forge Parkway and Veterans Boulevard, creating a more traffic-friendly alternative route between the two major corridors to the Great Smoky Mountains.
The project included two bulb tee beam bridges spanning Middle Creek and Ridge Road, 5 traffic lanes (4 travel lanes and a turn lane), and sidewalk and greenway access throughout the entire length of the roadway. For more information from TDOT, please visit the project page here.
