Project Overview

Our Work

Alcoa Highway

The Alcoa Highway project is a multi-phase improvement and realignment design for SR-115 / US-129 Alcoa Highway. Work includes widening or relocating various sections of the highway in Knox and Blount counties, including construction of a new alignment from Pellissippi Parkway to Hunt Road in Blount County. Additionally, the project includes a pedestrian greenway expansion that will eventually connect Knox and Blount County greenway systems.

Because of the size of this project, TDOT has divided the work into seven individual phases. Charles Blalock and Sons has completed the first two phases of the project and is currently the general contractor for three additional phases under construction. Work has included performing all road, bridge, and retaining wall construction and related grading and demolition. Blalock Ready Mix is providing pumping, rock slinger services, precast panels for retaining walls, and some concrete.
