Baker Creek Preserve Bike Park

Baker Creek Preserve is a mountain bike park and recreation area in Knoxville, TN. As part of the City of Knoxville’s park system, the Baker Creek area serves as the gateway to the Urban Wilderness trails that run throughout South Knoxville. The project included construction of multiple asphalt bicycle jump lines, a pump track, a skills area for new riders, and access trails to a new parking lot.

Charles Blalock and Sons worked with C2 Recreation Consulting to develop a design-build concept for the park. Along with trail builders IdeRide and Contour Trail Designs, Blalock crews constructed all of the new trails, including asphalt jump lines and pump tracks which were placed by hand. Blalock Ready Mix provided a custom mix of cement-stabilized aggregate for walking trails as well as concrete for retaining wall construction. The project was awarded a Keep Knoxville Beautiful Orchid Award for Outdoor Space Improvement in 2021.
