Project Overview

The I-640 North Broadway Interchange project included grading, drainage improvements, paving, signals, and construction of four and 10 retaining walls for the reconstruction of the North Broadway interchange at I-640 in Knox County. By extending eastbound improvements made in 1999 to the westbound side of the interchange, the project improved flow and increased capacity for westbound traffic and ramp connections along Broadway, Old Broadway, and Tazewell Pike. Charles Blalock and Sons served as the general contractor, performing all road, bridge, and retaining wall construction and related grading. Additionally, Blalock Ready Mix provided pumping and rock slinger services.
